The Great Neck Arts Center held their Gala 2012 at the Historic Oheka Castle last night. In 2013 the Center will be marking it's 20th anniversary in Nassau County. It serves a large population of children, teens and adults from a wide geographic region that includes NYC boroughs and Suffolk County.

This year Great Neck Arts honored Board Member Michael Lamoretti, Congressman Gary Ackerman, author Nelson DeMille and Performer and arts activist KT Sullivan. The event was attended by an overflow crowd of 300. In her opening remarks, founder & executive director Regina Gil noted that "The Center has been here long enough to take pride in the children who studied here and who now teach here! We have been here long enough to get letters of appreciation from parents whose children benefited from scholarships that gave them art, music, dance, dramatics, and who have gone on to stellar academic careers."
