FEINSTEIN'S AT LOEWS REGENCY, the nightclub proclaimed "Best of New York" by New York Magazine and "an invaluable New York institution" by The New York Post will present a special concert engagement of television and film star Tamara Tunie as part of the Fall 2012 Season. After she participated in a well-received concert at Jazz at Lincoln Center in May, performing the music of Cy Colman opposite such luminaries as James Naughton and Michele Lee, Tamara was inspired to return to singing. Tamara has been singing her entire life, including early appearances at Upstairs at Greenstreet and Steve McGraw's early in her career, before film and TV took over. After making it big in movies and TV and then bringing home a Tony Award as a producer for Spring Awakening on Broadway, many people forgot or never knew that her roots were in musical theatre. She is often asked, "Do you sing?" She is answering that question with this evening of re -imagined show tunes and jazz standards entitled "Yes, I Sing!" The show will feature Musical Direction by Mike Renzi, acclaimed for his work with Peggy Lee, Lena Horne, Mel Torme, Blossom Dearie and more. Her engagement – which coincides with the release of her new film, Flight, opposite Denzel Washington – will be run for one week only, from October 30 through November 3.

"It's time," she comments. "I missed singing. I missed performing in a nightclub. I grew up in Pittsburgh, and regularly, my parents would take us to the Holiday House Supper Club to see acts like Nancy Wilson, Sarah Vaughn, Ben Vereen, Freda Payne, Stephanie Mills, and The Temptations, to name a few. I also want to be able to sing until the day I die! It makes me happy! And if you don't use it, you LOSE it!"

Tamara Tunie will be seen this fall in Paramount's Flight in which she co-stars opposite Denzel Washington. Perhaps best known as "Medical Examiner Melinda Warner" on NBC's long-running top-rated series "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," Ms. Tunie has had many other memorable roles in film and television, including "Jackie Heath" opposite Charlize Theron and Al Pacino in The Devil's Advocate, "Leslie Christos" opposite Al Pacino in City Hall, "Sheila" opposite Samuel L. Jackson in The Caveman's Valentine (for which she was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award), "Jessica Griffin" in the hugely popular CBS Daytime Drama "As The World Turns," and the villainous "Alberta Green" on Season 1 of the hit series, "24."

Ms. Tunie has extensive stage credits ranging from Broadway's Julius Caesar opposite Denzel Washington, to Fences at the Kennedy Center, Troilus and Cressida at the New York Shakespeare Festival, the Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey's Les Liaisons Dangereuses and All's Well That Ends Well, Broadway's Lena Horne: The Lady and Her Music, Dreamgirls (the 2001 Anniversary Concert), and the first all African-American production of Cat On A Hot Tin Roof in Richmond, Virginia.

Ms. Tunie moved into theatre producing where her first outing was on the team responsible for the Tony Award winning musical Spring Awakening. She also produced August Wilson's Tony Award nominated Radio Golf and this past season's Magic/Bird. Ms. Tunie produced and directed her first feature film entitled See You In September, shot entirely in New York City and which starred Justin Kirk, Estella Warren, and James McDaniel. In 2005, Mayor Bloomberg awarded her the "Made in New York Award" from the City of New York for her support and commitment to Film, Television and Theater in Manhattan.

FEINSTEIN'S AT LOEWS REGENCY will present Tamara Tunie from Tuesday, October 30 through Saturday November 3 at 8:00 PM. The performance has a $30.00 cover charge with $50.00 premium seats available, in addition to a $25.00 food and beverage minimum. Jackets are suggested but not required. The club is located at 540 Park Avenue at 61st Street in New York City.
