Photo Flash: Linda Purl Plays Feinstein's

FEINSTEIN'S AT LOEWS REGENCY, the nightclub proclaimed "Best of New York" by New York Magazine, and "an invaluable New York institution" by The New York Post, will presented the debut of television and stage star Linda Purl on January 26, and performances will continue through Thursday January 27. Noted critic Rex Reed called her show "an hour of seamless enchantment. She has an impressive range, perfect intonation and awesome phrasing." In her diverse stage show, Ms. Purl performs timeless standards "Out Of This World," "Come Rain or Come Shine", popular theater songs "Wouldn't It Be Loverly," "Whistle a Happy Tune", as well as Country Western classics with her own jazz feel. She is joined by Music Director Tedd Firth and special guest vocalist Tom Wopat. Both performances will be at 8:30 PM at the Regency Hotel 540 Park Avenue at 61st Street.

Linda Purl is a veteran of stage and screen currently enjoying a recurring role as Helene Beasley, Pam's Mother, on "The Office." Purl is known as Charlene Matlock from the series "Matlock" and as Ashley Pfister, Fonzie's fiancée, from "Happy Days." The star of over 40 television Movies of the Week, her highlights include Having Babies with Desi Arnaz, Jr., Born Free, The Last Days of Pompeii with Sir Laurence Olivier, The Manions of America with Pierce Brosnan and Like Normal People, the award winning docudrama about a mentally retarded couple co-starring Shaun Cassidy. Linda's feature film credits include Disney's Mighty Joe Young, Crazy Mama - directed by Jonathan Demme - and Leo and Loree, produced by Ron Howard.

Purl's stage credits include Broadway's Tony nominated The Adventures of Tom Sawyer; Getting and Spending; Off Broadway's The Baby Dance and Hallelujah, Hallelujah! Linda has received six Dramalogue Best Actress Awards and two Dramalogue Awards as Best Producer, two Robby Awards for Best Actress, is a three time nominee of the Los Angeles Drama Critics Award for Best Actress, and is the recipient of the Connecticut Critics' Award for Outstanding Performance in a Play for her work in The Baby Dance. Among the regional theaters Linda has performed in across the country are Mark Taper Forum, Williamstown Theatre Festival six seasons, Cleveland Playhouse, Long Wharf, Berkeley Repertory, Actors Theatre of Louisville. Roles include A Street Car Named Desire, Blanche; Romeo and Juliet, Juliet; The Little Foxes, Regina; Merchant of Venice, Portia; A Glass Menagerie, Amanda. Internationally she has performed at the Imperial Theatre, Tokyo Japan and Princess Grace Theatre, Monaco.
