Photo Coverage: Sheera Ben-David Brings 'After The Rain' to Feinstein's at Loews Regency

Feinstein's at Loews Regency is continuing its Spring 2012 season with the return engagement of award winning vocalist, Sheera Ben-David through May 19, 2012.

Her new show “After The Rain” features music from theater composers such as Jason Robert Brown, Stephen Sondheim and Cy Coleman as well as pop writers like Randy Newman, Boz Scaggs, Amanda McBroom and Christine Lavin. The show is directed by Eric Michael Gillett with musical direction by her brother, Book of Mormon associate conductorAdam Ben-David and also features Mat Fieldes on bass, Ray Marchica on drums and Jake Ezra Schwartz on guitar.

Sheera Ben-David is a graduate of New York University -Tisch School of the Arts where she studied Musical Theatre and Acting at the Stella Adler Conservatory. She has spent the greater part of her life performing: In 1993, a selection of Gershwin songs at The Caramoor Festival; a full solo concert at Merkin Hall; shows at various clubs and venues in and around Manhattan such as The Metropolitan Room, The National Arts Club, Rose Theatre at Jazz at Lincoln Center, The Oak Room of the Algonquin Hotel, The Royal Room of The Colony Hotel in Palm Beach, Florida and many other benefits and events.

In 2001, Sheera put her love of Jacques Brel's music into an album, Sheera Ben-David Sings Jacques Brel, which both she and her brother produced. She then brought her passion to the source and performed to a sold out crowd at The Music Village in Brussels, Belgium, the home of Jacques Brel. Sheera received critical acclaim for her debut at the Algonquin Hotel's famed Oak Room. As a result, she was awarded the Ira Eaker Award for Special Achievement at the Backstage Bistro Awards in April of 2007. Both shows were given rave reviews. Sheera was then given the distinct honor of being the 2009 Julie Wilson Award winner. It was presented by The Mabel Mercer Foundation at the 20th Annual Cabaret Convention. “A Heart In New York,” her most recent how, debuted at Feinstein’s at Loews Regency. Her latest album, On a Carousel, is available at www.cdbaby.com and on iTunes.
