Photo Coverage: Giselle Wolf Brings JOURNEYS: A CELEBRATION to The Metropolitan Room

Last night, Friday, November 9th, was beginning of a special engagement of Giselle Wolf Journeys: A Celebration at the Metropolitan Room, 34 West 22nd Street, NYC. The three performances are at 7:00 pm and they continue next Wednesday, November 14th; and Thursday, November 15th. The musical direction and arrangements for the trio are by Ron Abel, and it is directed and developed with Karen Ludwig. BroadwayWorld brings you photos from the opening performance below!

Life is not about reaching a destination; it’s about finding joy along the way. In Journeys: A Celebration, Giselle Wolf’s performance of soulful singing and humorous life stories reveal that joy that draws one into an enchanting, witty and touching musical celebration. The versatile show includes songs from Leonard Bernstein, Jones & Schmidt, Jule Styne, Comden & Green and Lionel Bart as well as songs in French, Spanish, Italian and Yiddish.

When Giselle was 19 she was accepted at the Drama Studio London and moved to the UK to pursue her love of British theatre. Her first role was in the West end musical “Bar Mitzvah Boy” by Jule Styne and Jack Rosenthal at the historic Her Majesty’s Theatre. Since then, Giselle has continued to play leading and principal roles in television and theatre. These include: Leah in “The Dybbuk”; Bianca in “Women Beware Women”; “Nancy Astor”; “2 Point 4 Children” and “Too Much Sun” all for the BBC and Gabrielle in the series “Bognor” for Thames Television. Some of the leading theatre roles include; Jean Cocteau’s one woman play “The Human Voice”; Emily in “Anatol”; Marguerite in “A Cuckoo in the Nest”; Joanne in “Company”; Louise in “Gypsy”; multicast in “Oh What a Lovely War”; Molly Grant in “One Touch of Venus”; Dolly in “The Angel” and her one-woman show – “Voices from the Heart”. In California, Giselle has recently played the title roles in “Molly” by Simon Gray and “Celedine” by Charles Evered.

Her cabaret appearances have been at the prestigious Pizza on the Park in London and Langan’s Brasserie. In Los Angeles she has appeared at The Gardenia and has had several guest appearances with Ron Abel at Birdland (NYC). Giselle has performed her cabaret show at the Rubicon InterNational Theatre Festival and the California InterNational Theatre Festival.

There is a $20 cover charge and a two-beverage minimum. For reservations, call (212) 206-0440 or go to www.metropolitanroom.com.
