Photo Coverage: Amanda McBroom Brings A VALENTINE ROSE to Cafe Carlyle

The Carlyle, A Rosewood Hotel welcomes Amanda McBroom in her Café Carlyle debut engagement, "A Valentine Rose." Ms. McBroom opened at the Café Carlyle on January 29th and will play through February 9th where she will be joined by distinguished pianist/composer, Michele Brourman, as her music director, and the talented Dan Fabricant on bass. "A Valentine Rose" features an evening of songs to celebrate that endangered species: adult romance! From the great standards of Cole Porter and Sammy Cahn, to the passion of Jacques Brel, to Ms. McBroom's own unique view of the dark and bright sides of love, including her own standard, "The Rose." With "The Rose" as the perfect centerpiece, Ms. McBroom sings a bouquet of standards that sets the mood for an evening of romance in all its forms.

Café Carlyle is located in The Carlyle Hotel (35 East 76th Street @ Madison Avenue). Amanda McBroom will play Tuesdays through Saturdays at 8:45PM. There is a $65 music charge ($45 bar seating) Tuesday through Thursday and a $75 music charge ($45 bar seating) for shows on Friday and Saturday. Every Monday night at 8:45PM (until June 17th), Woody Allen appears with thE Eddy Davis New Orleans Jazz Band. There is a $145 music charge ($100 bar seating). Stephen's life seems to have always revolved around a camera and a piano. He studied at Manhattan School of Music and performed in the "Borsht Belt" during college vacations, where in the true DIRTY DANCING tradition he met his wife Eda. Stephen was a Board Member of the First All Children's Theater and his wife, a classical pianist, is a Board Member of Barrington Stage Co. In between he made time to be CEO of a multi national machinery company and President of a domestic Textile Mfg. Co. In retirement, he now takes pictures of his 5 grandchildren and various other performers.
