No Name is starting the year off right tonight, January 17th with its next installment of No Name Presents: The Uptown Cabaret SPOTLIGHT featuring singer/songwriter and now Inwood local PHIL ROY. The concert begins at 8:00PM at the Indian Road Cafe, 600 West 218th Street at Indian Rd. Hosted by Alexandra de Suze.
Phil Roy has had his songs recorded by Ray Charles, "Pop's" Staples, Joe Cocker, The Neville Brothers, Wyclef Jean, Mavis Staples, Barrington Levy, Widespread Panic, Los Lonely Boys, Melody Gardot and many others.
His songs appear in numerous films including the Academy award winners "As Good As It Gets" and "Leaving Las Vegas". His solo albums "grouchyfriendly", "Issues + Options", and "The Great Longing" have been released to extensive critical acclaim.
