NEWSIES' Laurie Veldheer and Julie Foldesi and More Set for Broadway Sessions, 1/17

Broadway Sessions is described as an evening of musical performances, games, comedy and open mic featuring a new Broadway guest each week. The show is created/hosted by Ben Cameron (Broadway's Wicked, Aida and Footloose) and features musical direction by Joshua Stephen Kartes.

This week, Thursday, January 17th, Broadway Sessions will welcome female cast members from the Broadway smash hit Newsies, Jared Zirilli and more.

Newsies cast members Laurie Veldheer and Julie Foldesi will perform both solo and duets. Foldesi, also an accomplished singer/songwriter, has previously appeared on Broadway in South Pacific, Little Women and The Full Monty. Laurie Veldheer is a Penn State MT graduate and is making her Broadway debut in Newsies. Veldheer appeared as 'Hannah' in the Pre-Broadway Paper Mill production.

Jared Zirilli has appeared on Broadway in Lysistrata Jones and in the national touring production of Wicked. Zirilli has recently been featured Off-Broadway in Fat Camp and Cait Doyle's Hot Mess in Manhattan.

The evening will also feature performances by singing actor Sal Pavia.

Broadway Sessions takes place every Thursday evening at The Laurie Beechman Theater inside the West Bank Cafe (407 West 42nd Street, at 9th Avenue). Doors open at 10:30 pm with showtime at 11pm. Open mic party follows the show til 2 am. $5 beer, wine and cocktails and full dinner menu are available. $5 door charge includes a donation to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids.
