Annie Ross – January 3, 10th, 17th, 24th, and 31st at 9:30 PM. Tickets are $25.
Annie Ross has been an abundant contributor to the art of jazz for over 50 years. Born in the UK, she has been a permanent resident of the USA for many years and a US citizen since 2001. The following are some highlights of what has been a long and illustrious career in jazz: Annie Ross is one of the pioneers of vocalese and the composer of "Twisted", one of the most well known examples of that art, as well as "Farmers Market", quot;Jackie" and many others.
Marilyn Maye – January 4th, 5th, and 6th at 7:00 PM. Tickets are $30.
An Evening With Marilyn Maye, Award Winner Marilyn Maye returns for a three night run at The Metropolitan Room.
Jessica Kirson’s New Talent Showcase – January 6th, 13th, 14th, 20th, and 27th at 9:30PM. Tickets are $12.
Howard Fishman & Etienne Charles – January 7th at 4:00 PM. Tickets are $15. January 8th at 9:30 PM.
Acclaimed singer, guitarist, composer and bandleader Howard Fishman's exuberant, spontaneous, and unvarnished music has made him a favorite of audiences and critics alike. Ever-evolving and impossible to pin down, Fishman filters a deep passion for New Orleans jazz, Brooklyn soul, open-hearted country, blues and gospel music through a completely original, experimental aesthetic, to create a sound entirely his own.
Tom Vaughn – Trail of Cheers- January 9th at 9:30 PM. Tickets are $25.
Tom Vaughn makes his solo debut at the Metropolitan Room in Trail of Cheers, after first appearing in historic cabaret venues and club scenes such as The Five Oaks, Limelight, and, Bard’O. The evening features arrangements of standards and Broadway classics, folk -pop ballads and Tom’s original music. Joining Tom is special guest, B’way actress and MAC and Bistro Award winner, Raissa Katona Bennett. Musical Direction is by Pianist Jeff Cubeta, associated with the critically acclaimed Cast of Thousands, The Songs of Crag Carnelia. The band also features Guitarist Sean Harkness who garnered both the Outstanding Instrumentalist of 2011 Backstage Bistro Award, and a MAC Award for his NY solo shows, David Lizmi on Bass and Mary Rodriquez on Drums. Tom most recently portrayed the roles of “Sister Hubert” in NUNSENSE AMEN and “Miles Gloriosus” in A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM, produced by Fire Island Pines Arts Project. Additional regional credits include, Kiss me Kate, Rigoletto, and On the 20th Century. Tom’s background vocals can also be heard on the Lucie Arnaz CD “Latin Roots” musically produced by Ron Abel and Lucie Arnaz.
Jay Rogers & Keith Thompson – Back From The Abyss January 9th at 7:00 PM. Tickets are $20.
Long time friends and funny men Jay Rogers and Keith Thompson reunite for a one night only, all stops out, no holds barred, evening of fun including new, never before heard original songs along with some of their favorite classic comic and musical collaborations.
Keith Thompson is currently the Conductor for the Las Vegas production of Jersey Boys. He conducted for the first national tour of Mamma Mia!, and wasthe musical director and winner of the 2000 Dora award for the first national tour of Cabaret. Keith is the composer/lyricist of Kooky Tunes, a revue of original comedy/novelty songs. Keith composed the Off-Broadway revueWhite Lies withPlaywright and Douglas Carter Beane, as well as God Lives in Glass based on the book by the same title with author, Robert J. Landy. Keith is excited to be in development with the hit Comedy-Musical, "Idaho!"
