Marieann Meringolo Leads You Must Believe In Spring! At Feinstein's

Marieann-Meringolo-Leads-You-Must-Believe-In-Spring-At-Feinsteins-20010101

Spring will arrive early when award-winning vocalist Marieann Meringolo brings her highly acclaimed new show You Must Believe In Spring! The Music of Michel Legrand to “The Nightclub of New York,” Feinstein's at Loews Regency (540 Park Avenue, at 61st Street) for four consecutive Sundays beginning February 26th (8:30PM) and playing through March 18th. The engagement will also help celebrate Mr. Legrand’s 80th birthday on February 24th.

You Must Believe In Spring! The Music of Michel Legrand will feature song selections with masterpiece lyrics by the multi award-winning husband and wife team Alan & Marilyn Bergman along with Norman Gimbel and Johnny Mercer. With her signature vocal style, Ms. Meringolo will bring their finest work to the stage including renditions of "The Windmills of Your Mind," Summer Me Winter Me," and "What are You Doing The Rest of Your Life."

“I have always been drawn to the music of Michael Legrand, especially the Legrand/Bergman collaboration,” stated Ms. Meringolo. “The combination of the beautiful melodies and breathtaking lyrics has always stopped me in tracks----a match made in heaven!’ she continued. An earlier version of You Must Believe In Spring! The Music of Michel Legrand was originally presented last spring and received both critical and popular praise – critics have called her voice “extraordinary, riveting, and effortless.”

The evening will feature Doyle Newmyer as Musical Director/Arranger and piano along with Boots Maleson on bass and Brian Woodruff on drums. The award-winning stager Eric Michael Gillett will direct.

Marieann Meringolo is a native New Yorker and has been called “one of the circuit’s most powerful singers” by Time Out New York. Her singular blend of vocals and intense passion reinvents the classics and masters original songs to create her own personal genre. Ms. Meringolo has performed on major concert stages around the country and headlined on the Oceania and Regent Seven Seas cruise lines as well as top Manhattan hot spots including: Joe’s Pub, The Town Hall, Metropolitan Room, The Russian Tea Room, The Rainbow Room, Hammerstein Ballroom, and Tavern on the Green. She is the recipient of a Back Stage Bistro Award for Outstanding Vocalist and The New York Native Award for Best Solo Performance. Marieann can be heard on several recordings: Hold Me Close, her critically acclaimed debut album; her “Award-Winning” second solo CD Imagine…If We Only Have Love (Back Stage Bistro Award & MAC Award for “Outstanding CD” & “Recording of the Year!”); Here’s To The Ladies! A Salute to Great Ladies in Song; and most recently her long awaited and critically acclaimed Holiday CD InThe Spirit.

Marieann Meringolo: You Must Believe In Spring! The Music Of Michel Legrand at Feinstein’s at Loews Regency (540 Park Avenue) will play the following schedule: Sundays (8:30PM): February 26, March 4, 11, and 18.
