NYU Tisch Presents:
COYOTE, AND UNCLE DALE'S SACK OF STONES
Sunday, November 15 at Noon
Overworked and dispassionate, Coyote leaves the big city to find himself. Hungry and lost he meets (and nearly eats) an unfortunate child and a sack of stones at the edge of a great northern woods. The drama that unfolds reveals the jokes, stories and secrets hidden on the long road back to Uncle Dale's house. The lucky but ignorant Coyote doesn't know who he belongs to or where he comes from, and is re-shaped by the child and their encounters on the road with many entities, including contested representations of Native histories. Fumbling with his own body, hungers, prejudices and errant cleverness, this devised physical theater piece for young people performs Coyote's complex becoming through the weaving together of true stories, trickster tales from select nations and contemporary native social issues. Directed by Karmenlara Ely and advised by Muriel Miguel of Spiderwoman Theater. $6 for students (ID must be shown if buying at the door) / $10 regular price
