Christine Pedi to Perform American Traditions Competition Concert Fundraiser in Savannah, 11/29

Acclaimed cabaret singer, Broadway performer and host of The Broadway Breakfast on Sirius/XM Radio, Christine Pedi will perform her hilarious holiday show, There's No Bizness Like Snow Bizness at Savannah Georgia's Charles Morris Center on November 29, 2012. Proceeds from this one-night concert will benefit the American Traditions Competition. The multi-part competition is held January 15-19, 2013 at the Lutheran Church of the Ascension and the Lucas Theatre for the Arts. Both of the Competition sites are located in beautiful downtown Savannah, Georgia close to ample parking and restaurants.

Christine's work as a musical theatre singer and comedienne in the Off-Broadway satirical revues Forbidden Broadway and Forbidden Hollywood has earned her a Drama Desk nomination, an LA Ovation award and  lots of frequent flyer miles (Tokyo, Singapore, Australia & London's West End.)  She has recently spoofed a whole new stable of characters (real and imagined) this past New York theater season in the Off-Broadway hit NEWSical the Musical, and her fun and festive annual holiday show There's No Bizness Like Snow Bizness has become a beloved tradition.

In his review of her 2010 show in Cabaret Scenes Magazine, Stephen Hanks (now also a reviewer for BroadwayWorld.com) wrote: "Christine's a capella rendition of the African-American spiritual "Children, Go Where I Send Thee," and masterful version of Fred Waring and the Pennsylvanians' version of "'Twas the Night Before Christmas" were triumphs of lyric memorization. She brought out her whole stable of characters for the "12 Divas of Christmas" finale. From Carol Channing on "12 drummers drumming" to Julie Andrews on "a partridge in a pear tree" (even Oprah got in on the act with "six geese-a-laying, and they're all under your seats to take home!"), the comic songstress flew seamlessly from one impression to another without missing a beat. This is one holiday season show that deserves five golden rings."

The American Traditions Competition was established to provide a forum for showcasing tomorrow's vocal talents and superstars and to celebrate the diverse repertoire of standard, classic American music.  Now in its 20th year, the American Traditions Competition brings to the stage world-class celebrity judges and more than 30 of the nation's best singers who compete for gold, silver and bronze medals as well as more than $40,000 in cash prizes. The competition music celebrates American composers such as Barber, Gershwin, Bernstein, Ellington and Savannah's own Johnny Mercer.
