'Broadway for Barack' Benefit Concert at The Zipper Feb.11

Ryan J. Davis and Adam Wagner are proud to announce Broadway For "Barack: The Voices Of Hope", a one-night only benefit concert for Senator Barack Obama's Presidential Campaign at Off-Broadway's Zipper Theatre. The concert will feature young songwriters & Broadway singers united for real change. The event will take place Monday, February 11th at 9:30 PM at The Zipper Theatre 336 W. 37th St. New York, NY

Producer Adam Wagner said today, "Barack Obama is a well-made song. He starts out in dorm rooms, an under appreciated gem shared amongst friends - the verses and choruses of his speeches force us to pause and imagine. Humming along, the Voices of Hope spread the gospel, and soon the country cannot help embracing the sweet melody of "Yes, we can." Ryan J. Davis added. "I'm thrilled we're announcing today, Super Tuesday, as voters from all over the country are casting their own votes for change. We're happy to be a part of that chorus." Davis has campaigned for Mr. Obama in New Hampshire and South Carolina.

Featuring rising songwriters: Nick Blaemire (Glory Days), Joe Drymala (White Noise), Manoel Felciano, Kait Kerrigan & Brian Lowdermilk (Henry and Mudge), Benj Pasek & Justin Paul (Edges),  Eric Svejcar (Caligula),  Jeffrey Thomson & Jordan Mann,  Zachary Dietz and Adam Wagner.

Featuring performances by; Aaron J. Albano (Bombay Dreams, Spelling Bee), Jenn Colella (High Fidelity, Urban Cowboy), Manoel Felciano (Sweeney Todd, Brooklyn), Adam Halpin, Kate Rockwell (Finalist on Grease! You're the One That I Want TV Show), Caesar Samayoa (Hot Feet, Carmen), & Marty Thomas (Xanadu & Wicked).

Street Lights, a new R&B/Hip-Hop musical by Joe Drymala will receive its first public preview during the evening. "Barack Obama's been talking about the same things that inspired me to write Street Lights -- community organizing, fixing public education, bringing the promise of the American Dream to every American, and healing the divisions between us," author Joe Drymala said.  "Watching his campaign catch fire all over the country has been the most extraordinary political event of my lifetime." Street Lights will feature performances by Timothy Anderson, Andrew Arrington, Krystal Brown, Kevin Curtis, Domonique Porter, Alessia Thompson, Dwayne Washington, & Natalie Weiss.

Eric Svejcar, the musical director of The Zipper's Jacques Brel, will serve as Musical Director with Julie Danielson on bass. Rachel Maier
will stage manage.

Tickets are $25 Cash (Or, Check written to Obama For America) and reservations are available by e-mailing broadwayforbarack@gmail.com.
