The Make-A-Wish Foundation makes its Broadway debut when
2007 Tony Award Winning Actress Julie White returns to the Broadway stage to
host "Broadway Sings The Phone Book," a fundraiser gala concert for
the Metro New York Chapter of the organization. "Broadway Sings the Phone Book" will play Studio
54 on November 12, 2007 at 7PM.
Demonstrating the popular expression "I'd listen to
'so-and-so" sing the phone book," producers Jonathan Tessero, Sarah Melissa
Rotker, and Joe Tropia have lined up a fun array of Broadway stars singing
their trademark songs... with the lyrics replaced either mad lib style or with
names from pages ripped randomly from the phone book. A third performance
option includes a variation of the title where performances are crafted with
words from pages ripped from a dictionary.
While no on-sale date has been announced for the
performance's 900 public tickets which range from $40 to $110, the producers
began their private sponsorship ticket package sales last week. Ranging from
$500 ($310 is tax deductible) for a premium orchestra seat, gift bag, and
sponsorship program credit to $2,000 ($1,575 is tax deductible) for a front row
ticket, gift bag, autographed window card, sponsorship credit, VIP room access,
and the opportunity to fill out the mad lib forms or rip the pages from the
dictionary or phone book used (and receive them back autographed), less than 70
of private sponsorship tickets are being offered. Traditionally, individual tickets
do not carry a tax deductible incentive, however a percentage of each
individual ticket will also be tax deductible for use in employer sponsored
matching gift programs.
