Ben Cameron (Wicked, Aida, Footloose) is the host and creator of BROADWAY SESSIONS at THE MIDTOWN THEATRE at the HA! Comedy Club TC l4 " (163 West 46th Street / Between 6th & 7th Avenues) every Thursday night at 11:00pm.
Broadway Sessions is described as an evening of musical performances, games and open mic featuring a new Broadway guest each week, and features musical director/composer Will Van Dyke (Rent) on piano. In addition after the show we open the microphone up to anyone who wants to sing. Open mic from 12:00-2am.
This Thursday, October 13th, 2011 the weekly show (now in it's 3rd year) welcomes Asmeret Ghebremichael, The cast of Odyssey-The Epic Musical and more.
Asmeret Ghebremichael is currently featured in the Tony-winning Broadway smash hit The Book of Mormon. Her other Broadway credits include Elf, Legally Blonde, Spamalot, Wicked and Footloose. Asmeret has also appeared in the films Confessions of a Shopaholic and Red Hook.
Odyssey-The Epic Musical will begin an 11 performance run at The American Theatre of Actors on Oct. 21st. Cast members will perform numbers from the show which stars Broadway vets Eddie Korbich (The Little Mermaid, Drowsy Chaperone), Janine DiVita (Grease) and Emma Zaks (Hair, La Cage). An audience member will win tickets to the show.
The evening will also feature performances by vocalist Marvin Avila; Open Mic party goes til 2 am featuring Joshua Stephen Kartes on piano.
Broadway Sessions takes place every Thursday evening at The Midtown Theater, 163 west 46th street inside the HA! Comedy Club. Doors open at 10:40 pm with showtime at 11pm and musical theater open mic party goes til 2 am. There is NO cover charge.
