Bobby Steggert (Ragtime, A Minister’s Wife, Yank!), Wesley Taylor (The Addams Family, Rock of Ages, “Smash”), and Nicole Lewis (Hair, Rent) will herald in the holiday season at THE KELLEN AND JOE CHRISTMASTIME SHOW, an evening of festive Yuletide cheer and original music from new composers Joe Kinosian and Kellen Blair (Murder for Two), at The Metropolitan Room (34 W. 22nd Street) on Monday, December 12, 2011 at 9:30PM.
This marks Kinosian and Blair’s second CHRISTMASTIME SHOW, following last year’s sold-out performance at the Laurie Beechman Theatre, featuring Jeff Blumenkrantz (How to Succeed…), Kevin Chamberlin (The Addams Family, Seussical), and Alex Gemignani (Les Miserables, Sweeney Todd).
Joe Kinosian and Kellen Blair return to New York following the world premiere of their new musical comedy Murder For Two, which recently completed its fourth extension at Chicago Shakespeare Theater, after receiving the Joseph Jefferson Award for Best New Work - Musical. Kinosian and Blair started writing together after meeting at the BMI Musical Theatre Writing Workshop, where they are currently advanced members. Additional works include Pirates Don’t Change Diapers (TheatreWorks, USA) and two Christmas songs featured in the 2009 and 2010 Lincoln Center Annual Holiday Songbooks. They are also graduates of the 2010 Johnny Mercer Songwriting Project and winners of the 2011 ASCAPLUS award. They are currently in development on several new musical projects.
Additional performers include Kelly McCreary (Passing Strange), Alan Schmuckler (Murder for Two), Martin Landry, Anna Marquardt, Shannon Tyo, and Sarah Ziegler.
The Kellen & Joe Christmastime Show will perform at The Metropolitan Room, located at 34 West 22nd Street, between 5th and 6th Avenues. The show begins at 9:30PM (doors open at 8:45PM).
