Broadway's Autumn Hurlbert (Legally Blonde) and Andrew Kober (Hair) will sing as part of In The Valley, the debut concert evening of songs by musical theater composer Zach Zadek at The Laurie Beechman Theater. The concert will take place Monday, January 9th at 7pm.
In addition to Hurlbert and Kober, the evening will also feature performances by Matt Dengler (A Little Night Music, The Fantasticks), Katrina Rose Dideriksen (Hairspray), Kathryn Francisco, Molly Fried, Spencer Glass, Blair Goldberg (Carrie), Will Roland (The Bus), Ariella Serur, Jordan Schultz, Jordan Stanley, Jared Weiss (Things To Ruin), Jason "Sweettooth" Williams (Bloodsong of Love) and Jared Zirilli (Lysistrata Jones). Zadek will lead a 5-piece band. Max Friedman directs.
"In The Valley" is an evening of songs about people who are somewhere between where they were and where they're going to be, from the valley between being single and being taken, between being sick and being well, and between being a computer nerd and a billionaire. It could even be the valley between just having dreams and making those dreams happen.
Long Island native Zach Zadek is part of a new generation of musical theatre composer/lyricists. Also a singer and pianist, his songs have been heard at Joe's Pub, Galapagos Art Space, and other locations around New York City. His musical 6 was a 2010 NYMF Next Link Finalist, and has been seen in several readings and productions across the area. He is a proud member of ASCAP, The Dramatist's Guild, and Local 802.
