Hot off the release of his new album, "Drafts (Volume One)," composer Alexander Sage Oyen is bringing his songs to 54 Below on Saturday, January 19th! Joining Oyen at the 11PM concert will be Derek Klena (Dogfight), Ben Fankhauser (Newsies), Taylor Trensch (Bare, Matilda), Emma Hunton (Rent, Spring Awakening), Alex Brightman (Wicked, Glory Days), Corey Mach (Hands on a Hard Body, Godspell), Remy Zaken (Spring Awakening), Matt DeAngelis (Hair, American Idiot), Andrew Kober (Hair), Kennedy Caughell (American Idiot), Noah Galvin (The Great American Mousical), Michael McCorry Rose (Wicked), Lois Sage (John Bucchino's Grateful album), Drew Gasparini (composer, Smash), Jessica Kent, ElAnna White, Noah Zachary, Max Chernin, and Dan Housek.

The band will feature Charlie Rosen on the bass, Jeremy Yaddaw on the drums, Ryan Cooper on guitar, Oyen and guitar and piano, and musical director Benjamin Rauhala on piano and glockenspiel.

Audiences can expect to hear highlights from "Drafts (Volume One),"selections from Oyen's musicals Sidekicks and A Night Like This, as well as tunes from the forthcoming second volume of "Drafts" and his debut album "If I Knew Better." Doors open at 10:00PM. Seating in the main dining room has a $25 cover charge, and there are also a limited number of $15 seats at the bar available. All seats are subject to a $25 food/drink minimum. 54 Below is located at 254 W. 54th Street. Tickets and information are available at 54Below.com.

Alexander Sage Oyen is a recent New York transfer. As a composer/lyricist he has written Sidekicks (NYMF 2012 Reading Series), A Night Like This (Productions at Florida State University and Princeton University) and is currently working on a new piece. His album releases include If I Knew Better and Drafts: Volume One (available on iTunes, Amazon and CDBaby), and he can be heard as a vocalist on Scott Alan's Live album ("I've Already Won"). As a performer, he was seen on VH1's "In Search of the Partridge Family" and he played Tobias in Sweeney Todd opposite Faith Prince and Davis Gaines. Ahh, to be young again. He currently has no awards to his name but is the proud owner of a dog named after a scandalous politician and the entire Harry Potter wand collection. He owes everything (and he means everything) to Mom, Dad, Rebecca, Veronica, John, and the White family. He is inspired by many creators but only steals from a few. Listen closely, you'll hear.

54 Below was designed by Tony Award winner John Lee Beatty and architect Richard Lewis, lit by Tony Award winner Ken Billington with sound by Tony Award nominee Peter Hylenski. Tony Award winner Wittman serves as creative consultant, and MAC Award winner Phil Geoffrey Bond is director of programming.
